An Event Apart is coming to Boston in 2007! And they’ve super-sized it into a two-day conference with an amazing lineup of speakers including some dude named Dean Cedarhouse or something. He will be speaking about something great (have any fantastic topic ideas? Comments welcomed).

Here’s your hCalendar hookup:

The awesomeness at this gathering will be inescapable. I’m really looking forward to it, and I hope you can make it. There are even post-show beer plans already in the works.

* Austin Powers Voice *

Dean is my middle name.

* End Austin Powers Voice *

Actually, it really is my middle name.

Looks like a great event. Why don’t they ever have “An Event Apart - Middle of Nowhere, Montana”? That would be close enough for me to attend.

Man… I officially no longer can keep up with the Dan Cederholm road show. So, this begs a question.

Say a kid is trying to decide between SXSW and now AEA.

Say said kid is from the Boston area.

Say said kid would also get a kick out of seeing Ted Reingold, Brian Oberkirch, Tara Hunt, etc.

THE CHOICES!!! :)

Congrats on another awesome gig, though.

I finally ponied up the $$ for SXSW which is about 2 weeks earlier .. I won’t make the conference but post-conference drinks sounds like a winner.

I miss the Beantown-Geekouts and Dan’s musk.

Do we have to pay the $795 to go to Clery’s afterwards? Design, theory and beer go hand in hand. I look forward to it.

poor boy: given that he’s a speaker and not one of the organizers of AEA, Dan’s not responsible for the registration fee. For that, you’d want to direct your disappointment toward me and Jeffrey Zeldman. Feel free to express yourself over here, if you like.

Wow, a great group of speakers. As I am in British Columbia Canada, travel is a requirement. Gonna see if I can make one of next years events. Have you thought about bringing AEA to Canada?

Dean Cederhouse is amazing! haha. Congratulations, although in my opinion you should be invited to speak at every one of these type of events. I can’t wait.

Doh! A day with Dan costs 895.00? Yikes. Dan why do you build websites? Just give daily speeches and cash in. Hot dam, what, you could bring in close to 100,000 if 100 dopes show up. Yee ha.

I agree with “Poor Boy”… 895.00 to attend this gayla event?. Eric Meyers can go polish Jeff Zeldman’s simple bits.

Very irrelevant to the post but I can’t seem to see your style for the website. Even in the source there is no reference to a css file for screen. :/ This is on two completely different computers, browers and internet connections.

Oh.. But then when I’m previewing my comment (right now), I can see style. Its just the front page.

The upcoming event will be fantastic if the speakers are good.

Rodney - if you’re in BC, have you checked out Web Directions North? It’s sure be a great conference as well — in Vancouver.

Steve Jobbs - AEA Boston isn’t a “day with Dan”, it’s a two-day conference with a group of great speakers.

What do you walk away from the conference with that you could not get from the books and blogs published by the speakers? For $800+ dollars, I want to be sure that I’d be getting something valuable out of the deal and not just a powerpoint presentation that reiterates the main ideas and concepts that have already been published.

I would probably be better off buying $800 on books written by the speakers than attending AEA Boston. Yeeesh.
